Description:

SUMMARY OF THE JOB: (PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE JOB)

Responsible for the company’s end to end sourcing of materials and services essential for our operations. In addition, the individual will be responsible for all phases of sourcing and purchasing that require the skills necessary to identify cost saving opportunities, creatively negotiate, generate contracts to assure seamless availability of all materials (assurance of supply ‘’AOS’’) to support the company objectives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferable Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electrical, and at least five (5) years purchasing/strategic sourcing experience along with 3+ year’s relevant operations/supply chain experience
  • Minimum 10 years working experiences in manufacturing environment (Contract Manafacturing will be an advantage)
  • Experience of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities for manufacturing
  • A self-starter, motivated and able to positively motivate others can-do attitude
  • Ability to manage projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria= key performance indexes)
  • Basic knowledge of the legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts
  • Strong preference for some international sourcing experience
  • Excellent leadership, team player, man-management skills and follow up skills
  • Strong proficienct in Microsoft Office - Excel, Powerpoint & project management, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing management goals of the company and implement action items to ensure that those goals are achieved
  • Manage and mentor staff encouraging professional growth & development
  • Set department KPI and lead team to develop forecasts for future demand and place orders in a timely fashion based upon vendor lead-time for contract manufacturing division, system integration division and manufacturing department.
  • Participate in establishing short-term and long range planning and budget development of the company to support strategic business goals
  • Lead bi-yearly Breakeven price exercise during company stock take to determine a list of part numbers for cost reduction, execute the cost reduction plans to drive cost reduction, and to provide forward purchase price be it cost down/price remain/price up achieved to Sales/Program NPI to review the ‘’basket of active goods”
  • Responsible for negotiations for year on year cost reduction indexes set by management, and best possible cost service guarantee and develop “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
  • Implement supplier agreements/contracts when beneficial by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models with cross-functional stakeholders from Quality, Manufacturing, Assembly/Production and Logistics departments.
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers or to switch supplier by conducting localization or to build up dual source strategy.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities
  • Develop and implement sourcing and supplier selection strategy domestically and internationally
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships (trade shows, supplier meetings, conferences, supplier visits cum audit etc.)
  • Develop a supplier management program with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives that comply to ISO9001/13485/FDA requirements
  • Establishes purchasing policies and ensures compliance within the department
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization
  • Support Program NPI and Planning to reduce excess to achieve zero obsolescence with a robust ECN management
  • Oversee staffing/recruiting/training /coaching of direct reports including performance reviews
  • Any other tasks assigned
