Due to continued growth, we have a newly created role available for a Purchasing Officer who will be responsible for the purchase of inventory and direct charge material and services, expediting overdue orders, vendor analysis, and maintaining up-to-date records, ensuring the needs of both the customer and the Company are met.
Key Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
- Perform purchases for all areas of the Business, including Operations and Corporate
- Asset Management of direct charge and inventory items, including associated parts for heavy and light equipment, consumables, small tools, service subcontractors, minor equipment rentals, and services within service level definitions
- Maintain up-to-date records of and insurance and all other documents for contractors
- Effectively communicate and interface with all areas of business and deliver a high standard of internal customer service; (Procurement, Warehousing, Finance, Shared Services, Asset Management and Operations)
- Manage process changes, analysis of issues, investigation and issue resolution and provide direction for improvements
- Liaison with suppliers and business unit representatives to ensure goods and services meet quality standards and time requirements.
- Assist in developing, measuring and monitoring supplier performance
- Investigate and resolve any issues with purchase order commitments, supplier invoices and vendor set up and changes.
- Perform Vendor and cost analysis by requesting and evaluating Quotes for direct charge material and services.
- Manage the purchase order process for financial accuracy and timeliness
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Post secondary education or equivalent experience relating to procurement
- Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory and /or parts purchasing/management a similar discipline
- Minimum 2 years of experience with ERP systems focused on Inventory and Procurement modules
- Industrial construction and/or mining experience with a focus on heavy equipment maintenance
- Experience and knowledge of parts related to heavy equipment maintenance
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
