REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric, Relevant undergraduate degree/qualification in supply chain management, logistics or business administration essential
  • Advanced Excel – exp with Formulas V-lookup, Pivot tables
  • 5 Years’ working experience as Purchasing Manager or similar field
  • Hands on function working alongside the Logistics Manager interacting on the factory floor for information required
  • Sourcing and vendor management exp essential
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
  • A knack for negotiation and networking
  • Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures
  • Expertise in supplier relationship management and negotiation skills will be crucial in ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement.
  • Solid judgement along with decision making skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  • Managing excel data, working on in-house system and SAGE
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
  • Perform strategic procurement activities across various spend categories, aiming to find better deals and more profitable suppliers
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
  • Work closely with Operations, Logistics and Demand Planning to determine best practise to align with company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Sourcing equipment, goods, and services, as well as managing vendors.
  • Lever your knowledge of supply chain management and your ability to identify opportunities for improvement, to contribute to the overall success of our organization’s purchasing operations
