The Python Engineer is a pivotal role in advancing AI/ML products within Fortrea. This individual specializes in designing, developing, and implementing AI/ML products that will help improve clinical research operations and decision-making processes. The ideal individual for this position is comfortable working with large datasets, has previously developed Python-based software products, has experience using machine learning techniques and algorithms to build accurate and reliable AI models, has strong problem-solving skills, and can communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design and develop machine learning models and algorithms that can process and analyze large data sets to improve clinical trial design, patient recruitment, data analysis, etc.
• Build Python-based APIs with commonly used Python libraries and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Utilize Python programming language to build, train, and deploy AI models using commonly used libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
• Establish standard procedures for model testing and code reviews for quality assurance of developed AI/ML models.
• Regularly evaluate and fine-tune AI/ML models to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adaptability to changing business needs.
• Contribute to all phases of the application development lifecycle from concept and design to testing.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into AI/ML solutions for existing systems and workflows across Fortrea.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to junior developers, contributing to their overall development and growth.
• Test, troubleshoot, and debug defects that may arise during development and deployment of AI products.
• Stay informed on the latest AI technologies, tools, and techniques.
• And all other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience :

• At least 3-5 years of experience as a Python developer, with at least 1 year in AI/ML product development.
• Proven experience developing AI and ML applications.
• Solid grasp of Python programming language and its various libraries, including NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.
• Understanding of other programming languages such as R and JavaScript.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of AI and ML, including experience with machine learning algorithms, supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing.
• Understanding of databases, data modeling, and experience with SQL.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Experience in virtualization, containerization, and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Knowledge of API development with Python.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

• Experience working in a team using Agile methodologies.
• Established expertise in AI/ML product development from ideation to deployment.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting and be a self-starter.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, multitask, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Pay Range: $100K - $165,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)
