Description:

Summary
Andersen, an international IT company, invites an experienced Python Developer with AWS to work on a project for one of our UK customers.
The customer is a new kind of bank founded in 2016. It focuses on distinct client segments that are underserved by the market, creating innovative products to meet their needs. The company offers white-labeled products with no upfront investment for certain industries and businesses.
The task is to build banking technology with class-leading flexibility for clients. At the core of this platform is consumer account processing infrastructure that is able to process client account events and perform financial computations.
Technology stack on the project: Redshift, S3, Lakeformation, Lambda, Fargate, Glue, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, QuickSight, RDS MySQL, DynamoDB, Kinesis and much more.

Responsibilities

  • Developing various features and capabilities of a data platform with Redshift and S3.
  • Participating in code and design reviews, and providing recommendations to other team members.
  • Working on designing new capabilities.
  • Being involved in building ETL/ELT data pipelines with AWS Glue and Lambda to clean, transform and load data from its raw format to multiple endpoints and for multiple use cases.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and functionality.
  • Documenting data systems.
  • Taking part in testing activities for code/solutions on the relevant levels (unit, integration, sanity).

Requirements

  • Experience in the role of Python Developer for cloud applications for 4-6+ years.
  • Good experience working with AWS, including Lambda, Terraform, Cloudformation, Glue, SQS, SNS, S3, ECS, CloudWatch and Step Functions.
  • Skilled in SQL.
  • Good experience with CI/CD.
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience with serverless architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience and strong understanding of AWS services such as DynamoDB, Step Functions, API Gateway, Kinesis, Lambda, AWS SAM and CodePipeline / Deploy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Problem solving - you enjoy the challenge of solving complex engineering problems and designing & implementing large scale systems (and the challenges this can entail).
  • Automation & efficiency - you look for ways to increase productivity and flow by removing manual work from engineering practices.
  • Quality mindset - you care about building high quality systems.
  • You are a Team Player, ready to support your teammates in code reviews and feel common responsibility for the Sprint Goal delivery.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate.

Desired skills

  • AWS Lake Formation would be a huge plus.
  • Awareness of GDPR/PECR/DPA.
  • Proficient in building Spark/PySpark jobs to process big data volumes on structured and semi-structured data.
  • AWS certification.
