We are looking for a QA Analyst Lead. We are a small venture-backed company located in Downtown Toronto. We are looking for candidates with 5-9 years of experience, with at least 2-3 years tightly focused on testing full-stack web applications. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working with our team to help solve challenging business problems for our clients as we grow and scale our SaaS application.
Our main office is conveniently located right above the College subway station at Yonge & College. You will be working remotely 4 days per week, coming in to our office one day per week.
Benefits & Compensation

Upon joining the team, you will receive;

  • $110,000 - $125,000. Based on experience and skill

  • Hybrid work environment – remote 4 days a week, in office twice a month.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leadership. Provide leadership and guidance to the QA team. Mentor, coach, and train QA engineers to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Test Planning and Strategy. Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies based on project requirements and specifications. Define testing methodologies, approaches, and metrics to ensure thorough test coverage.
  • Test Case Design and Execution. Design, create, and review test cases and test scenarios to validate software functionality. Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Test Automation. Lead the implementation of test automation frameworks and tools to automate repetitive testing tasks.
  • Defect Management. Establish defect management processes, including defect logging, tracking, prioritization, and resolution. Conduct defect triage meetings to prioritize defects based on severity, impact, and urgency.
  • Collaboration and Communication. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and specifications.
  • Process Improvement. Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, methodologies, and best practices. Conduct post-mortem reviews and lessons-learned sessions to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Quality Assurance Metrics and Reporting. Define key quality metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of QA activities. Generate and analyze quality assurance reports and dashboards to provide visibility into testing status and trends.
  • Training and Development. Provide training and support to QA team members on testing techniques, tools, and processes. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging quality assurance and testing technologies.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience (at least 5 years) in a QA leadership role, preferably in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, xUnit).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies required.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are desirable.
