Description:

QA MANAGER - PRE-CAST CONCRETE

For more than 15 years, our clients have specialized in manufacturing, transporting, and installing precast concrete elements for the construction industry. As Adelaide’s premier Precast Contractors, they are seeking a QA Manager to become part of their expanding team.
As the QA Manager, your role is to oversee the production of high-quality precast concrete panels, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards. You will foster a culture within the production team that prioritizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Collaborating closely with the team, you will proactively prevent issues and address them swiftly and effectively should they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain, update, and distribute project quality assurance documents, procedures, and processes.
  • Provide inspection activity for the panel throughout the production cycle.
  • Direct quality control inspections and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.
  • Pre-pour inspection
  • Post-pour inspection
  • Installation inspection
  • Inspect the panels in the yard, assessing their appearance and overall quality, and ensure that necessary repairs are carried out.
  • Review drawings of precast panels to be produced daily.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to consistently enhance overall quality through communication and observation.
  • Training staff in their Quality responsibilities and ensuring QA team are adequately supported and trained to fulfill their duties

Selection criteria:

  • A degree in Engineering (or equivalent) or Quality Management
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Australian standards (eg AS/NZS 9001:2015) industry codes and procedures
  • Acquainted with precast concrete, steel framing, and reinforced concrete construction techniques.
  • The ability to read, understand, and interpret architectural and engineering documents and drawings is essential.
  • Solid understanding of quality control procedures
  • The capability to diagnose and address issues related to the strength or consistency of concrete.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills

Package:

  • Salary 100k to 120k
