Description:

The Quality Assurance Manager – Loan Servicing is an important member of the compliance department who is responsible for identification, evaluation, and testing of risk and compliance controls for various servicing operational functions. This position requires strong partnership and collaboration with business units while maintaining the appropriate level of independence to ensure effective reviews of PRMI policies, statutory, regulatory, agency and investor requirements. In fulfilling job responsibilities, the successful candidate is responsible for advising regarding solutions to ensure an effective compliance program and for coordinating with operational and corporate management to support compliance initiatives at the direction of Compliance Management.

Provides management assistance and training to other team members as needed

  • Coordinates, assigns, and monitors all incoming workflow into the servicing quality assurance department
  • Implements existing tests and develops testing procedures for loan servicing audits as assigned
  • Reviews and responds to audit result rebuttals and works with business management on resolving process gaps
  • Responsible for preparing and recording all servicing quality assurance report packages detailing findings
  • Coordinates and presents results of assigned audits to business management
  • Reports all findings to the appropriate personnel or senior management
  • Tracks corrective actions through completion
  • Previews and provides appropriate responses and documentation on for all examination requests.
  • Interacts professionally with other employees, customers, and investors and works effectively as a manager on all assignments
  • Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to understand and develop testing procedures for servicing functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting audit findings to senior management, corporate, and branch personnel
  • Ability to effectively analyze the results of audit findings and make recommendations, changes, or corrections to procedures for compliance with all state and federal mortgage origination regulations
  • Experience and knowledge of Regulation X, Regulation Z, Fair Credit Reporting Act, CFPB rules and initiatives, AG/DOJ and other obligations relating to mortgage servicing
  • Excellent understanding of all loan types and investor/agency guidelines (FHA, VA, Conventional, non-conforming, etc.)
  • Ability to perform loan calculations (LTV, CLTV, income, and asset)
  • Ability to read and analyze loan documents and property appraisal types
  • Understanding of disclosure requirements and RESPA, and predatory lending issues
  • Ability to analyze credit reports and title reports
  • Understanding of fraud detection red flags and prevention techniques
  • Computer competency and the ability to work with standard software
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to assist and train corporate and servicing personnel

WORK REQUIREMENTS

Each employee must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, utilize a computer, maintain a work schedule, and effectively perform in an office setting. To maintain critical job functions, day-to-day responsibilities center around PRMI’s branch or corporate office location. As business permits, employees demonstrating competency in job responsibilities may be permitted to work remotely on a limited basis with the majority of their time spent in the office. All employees working in a remote capacity must demonstrate the ability to comply with the PRMI remote work policy. Remote work is not required but is a privilege. Permission to work remotely may be terminated at any time.
Employment with PRMI requires compliance with and adherence to all applicable mortgage and fair lending laws and regulations as well as PRMI policies. The ability to work extended hours may be required.

Responsibilities:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works and communicates with the Vice President of Servicing Compliance
  • Ability to direct staff in daily tasks and functions
  • Monitors and advises staff of phone, computer, break, lunch, absentee and dress code policies, and coordinates time off for coverage within the department
  • Completes payroll for staff and authorizes and manages vacation schedules and time off requests
  • Oversees and manages all outlined audits and tasks and ensures all deadlines are met
  • Reports audit findings to senior management
  • Performs corrective action and implements personal improvement plans when applicable
