Description:

Techmation Electric & Controls Ltd is currently hiring an experienced QA/QC Lead. This is a camp based position in Foster Creek, running on a 14/7 shift. This position is responsible for all electrical inspections related to installations, testing, commissioning of electrical components.
Techmation works on a variety of industrial oil and gas construction and maintenance projects throughout Western Canada. As a successful applicant, you will have the opportunity to work on full-time, long-term construction projects with well-established and reputable clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyman Electrical and/or instrumentation certificate is an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years QA/QC experience on an industrial project
  • Must have previous electrical/instrumentation experience working within the Industrial Oil & Gas sector
  • Bluebeam, Navis Works, and Excel experience would be a asset
  • Ability to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Must have a flexible work schedule - shift work, overtime, and weekends
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven dedication to safety
  • Candidates must have valid Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive & Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED), and CSTS 2020 & Driving and Journey Management Certificates

Responsibilities:

  • Building and completion of turnover packages
  • Field QC Checks and filling out documents
  • Working with site superintendent to do As-builds
  • Working with client QC representative to coordinate inspections
  • Working with client warehouse to receive equipment
  • Conduct inspection of all ongoing activities for electrical installations
  • Attend all electrical inspections with client representatives
  • Submit inspection requests in coordination with project engineers
  • Prepare daily QA/QC reports regarding inspections, material, and non-conformances
  • Verify the drawings and documents used at site for approvals and compliance with project requirements
  • Ensure the completeness and conformity are to the specified applicable requirements, standards and/or directives
  • Ensure that all equipment used is calibrated and with valid certificates
  • Assess competency and capability of tradespersons; evaluating crew capability and benchmarking to others to ensure that the crew meets the required levels of quality by discussing experience and observing performance on the job
  • Communicating the job standards with the crew by sharing job plan and associated hours for tasks as well as drawings
  • Assigning individual and crew tasks to ensure maximum productivity
  • Responsible for the preparation of the final turn over documents such as QA/QC documents, testing and commissioning reports
