POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a QA/QC Manager to work at our Shepard Office (9423 Shepard Road SE, Calgary, AB T2C 4R6) in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Production Manager, the QA/QC Manager will be an integral member of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control team for the compression and processing division. They will support the division team through the timely completion of QC activities as required to ensure the success of all the projects to which they are assigned. This position is responsible for implementing procedures and enforcing practices as defined by ABSA, CWB, OH&S legislation, C.S.A., customer specifications, Startec quality control programs, and safety manuals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Engineering Design & Drafting Technology (EDDT) or a related field.
  • Level 2 Welding inspector Certificate required.
  • Welding Engineering Technology program completion is an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a QC Supervisor or Manager in the design, fabrication, and inspection of industrial pressure piping.
  • Previous experience in oil & gas manufacturing.
  • Lean & ISO experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ASME Codes Sections, I, II, V, IX, B31.3, regulatory requirements (ABSA, CWB, AER, NEB), etc.,
  • Able to work with and interpret orthographic, isometric, and P&ID drawings,
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of products including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive/critical issues effectively,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
