We are currently seeking an experienced QC Inspector - Welding & Piping. He/She will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of welding and piping activities within the construction of a combined cycle power station in Altbach, Germany.
This individual is responsible for overseeing all welding operations to ensure they meet safety regulations and engineering specifications.

Tasks

  • Inspect welding and piping work to ensure strict adherence to project specifications and international quality standards.
  • Collaborate with construction and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of welding activities into the broader project scope.
  • Manage documentation and certification related to welding activities and ensure compliance with all project and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a welding inspector, ideally within large-scale industrial or energy projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc) and familiarity with metals such as steel and aluminum.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CSWIP or AWS-CWI, are required.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and German to effectively manage diverse team interactions.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment where adherence to timelines is critical

Responsibilities:

DETAILED TASKS:

  • Perform detailed inspections of welded components to verify conformance with design and quality standards, including checking weld preparations, the welding process itself, and the final weldments.
  • Review and interpret radiographic films and other non-destructive testing (NDT) reports daily to assess the quality and integrity of welds.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and third-party NDT inspection companies to ensure all welding activities are executed correctly and documented properly.
  • Oversee the qualification testing of welders and welding procedures to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Actively participate in the auditing of the approved third-party NDT inspection.
  • Monitor and advise on the application of post-weld heat treatments on site and verify the accuracy of completed test reports.
  • Select welds for non-destructive testing and maintain records of defective welds and their remediation.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of welding materials and consumables in accordance with project specifications.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement practices regarding welding processes.
