Description:

SUMMARY

The QHSE Associate/Professional is responsible for reviewing and verifying the Safety and Health Policies, Procedures, Plans and training requirements on behalf of AVETTA Operators and Contractor Members. They help maintain the ISO9001 Quality Management System, Avetta’s SSIP Membership and ISO17020 UKAS Accreditation. The QHSE Associate/Professional will deputise for UKAS Accreditation Quality Manager (held by Manager, EMEA QHSE).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to interpret and make decisions based on regulatory industry best practices (HSE Legislation), and/or Operator requirements
  • An affinity for learning online software systems
  • Working PC knowledge, windows preferred and related applications
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities
  • Adaptable to workload fluctuations and intensive deadlines
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Bi-lingual proficiency is a plus
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving
  • Ability to read and interpret statistical data, information and documents
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-Motivated and driven to succeed
  • Ability to communicate and understand in a one-on-one or group situation
  • Ability to interact with staff members and others encountered in the course of work

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Health & Safety professional with at least 5 years experience working within an health and safety environment
  • NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent) as a minimum
  • 3+ years experience in contractor pre-qualification
  • Auditing experience is a plus
  • SSIP knowledge (UK based auditors) is a plus (SSIP Auditor will be provided for UK based auditors)
  • Environmental/sustainability experience is a plus
  • Safety and Health program development or editing is a plus
  • European experience a plus
  • Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001) experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of ISO17020 is a plus

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct Manual Audits to assess a Contractor’s Safety and Health Policies, Procedures, Plans and Training documentation required based on exposure hazards associated with services performed. The Audits are intended to ensure compliance with applicable legislation as well as any Client specific requirements. In addition, the HSE Associate/Professional will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist customers with closing gaps or deficiencies as a result of the audit
  • Perform customer verifications and Audit closure assistance
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries
  • Record details of inquiries, comments and complaints within the Contractor Account Notes
  • Forward customer complaints or concerns to the Audit Manager or other Designated Safety Professional in a timely manner
  • Maintain ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • Maintain SSIP Membership
  • Act as Deputy Accreditation Quality Manager (ISO17020 UKAS Accreditation)

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs other duties as assigned;
  2. May be required to attend training, meetings, or seminars.
