THE CLIENT:

My client is a nationally-established commercial construction group that delivers a diverse range of fitout, refurbishment and redevelopment projects across the commercial mixed-use, corporate workplace, hotel/hospitality, luxury retail, aviation, health & leisure, and industrial sectors valued up to 30mil.
With 5 offices nationally, this group leverages strong relationships with a plethora of institutional blue-chip clients including property developers, property funds/landlords, retail & hotel brands, healthcare providers, gym & lifestyle brands etc

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Have demonstrated experience in the estimating/preconstruction/ECI, cost planning, design and tender of fitout, refurbishment and construction/redevelopment projects - with a focus on the commercial, retail, hotel/hospitality and health & leisure sectors
• Have a deep understanding of the ECI/D&C, cost planning and value engineering functions, as well as commercial contracts and risk mitigation strategies
• Have a strong network of existing clients and industry contacts across SEQ

THE ROLE:

As QLD Preconstruction Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the QLD Preconstruction and Estimating functions, leading the company’s Precon and Estimating Teams during the associated client engagement, ECI, design management, cost planning and tender processes. In doing so, you will work collaboratively with the company’s Preconstruction/Estimating, Project Delivery, Marketing and Business Teams nationally. You will be exposed to a high-level of client interaction being heavily involved during tender meetings, project pitches and contract negotiations.
As part of the QLD Senior Management Team, you will be involved in the implementation of business strategies to engage and secure work with targeted clients, as well as streamlining and refining internal Preconstruction and Estimating systems/processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Lead the company’s QLD Preconstruction and Estimating functions, including ECI and tender processes
• Manage key project stakeholders, including clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Write and review submission material to ensure that project specific requirements/criteria have been met
• Interpret, understand and execute head contracts - mitigating contractual risk
• Take part during strategic client engagement functions inline with establishing/maintaining relationships and securing new work
