Description:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic knowledge and experience of 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, DOE Order 414.1D, national consensus standard ASME NQA-1-2008/ASME NQA-1a-2009 Addenda, NAP-401.1, and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide Series or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge and experience with quality concepts and principles and how these are applied.
- Experience with inspection principles and practices.
- Experience in performing detailed reviews of quality documentation to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory defined requirements.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated experience interacting and effectively communicating with all levels of customers and management.
- Experience in preparing and presenting quality assurance reports.
- Experienced in effective decision-making and risk management regarding complex technical issues.
Education/Experience: Position requires an Associate’s Degree in a relevant field or combination of technical certification and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in the preparation of QA procedures for review, approval, and issues in accordance with requirements and/or standards.
- Previous experience in an inspector role or as a qualified receipt inspector.
- Experience leading and supporting quality assessments, surveillances, and/or audits.
Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): Reading vision, Binocular vision, Color discrimination, Distance vision, Sitting, Standing, Walking, Climbing stairs, Climbing Ladders, Bending, Reaching overhead, Reaching horizontally, Reaching down, Lifting 30+ pounds.
Work Environment: Outdoors, Work in a noisy environment, Work near sources of ionizing radiation, Work near sources of non-ionizing radiation, Gloves or hand protection, Safety shoes or protective footgear.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
