REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a QS Manager, preferably in building construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation techniques, and cost control procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards in the construction industry.
  • Able to read and understand structural drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the quantity surveying activities, ensuring accurate cost estimation, cost control, and cost management throughout project.
  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and tender documents.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on cost-related matters to project teams, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
  • Conduct regular cost assessments and prepare reports detailing project cost performance, variations, and potential risks.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and track cost expenditure against budget, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective measures as required.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
