Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner to join our busy team within Theatre Services in Singleton Hospital, Swansea. We welcome applicants who share The Values and Behaviours of Swansea Bay UHB.
A Full Time vacancy is available for experienced Practitioners in an Anaesthetic and Recovery role. The successful candidate(s) will be required to work shifts. Our unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may also be required to work in the Theatre Departments across all three hospital sites within the Health Board when service demands require.
Theatre documentation is recorded electronically, so IT skills are essential.
This post will involve caring for patients within the Theatre Department, specialising in the Anaesthetic and Recovery setting. The patients you will care for will undergo surgery of various specialities and you will be expected to manage a patients care throughout the perioperative stage, to their discharge.
This is a physically and mentally demanding job and the successful candidate(s) will have to prove they can be adaptable to keep up with this ever changing environment.

The post holder will have a base hospital and can expect to work across any of the four hospital sites when requested. The post holder is required to work as part of a team to assess, develop, implement and evaluate pre, peri and post operative patient care on a daily basis. Working closely with all disciplines without direct supervision on achieving KSF outline to ensure the effective running of the department out of hours within set guidelines in the absence of the Lead Nurse/ODP.
The post holder is required to provide technical/specialist assistance requiring a high degree of dexterity, precision, accuracy and prolonged concentration to patients and medical staff. The post holder organises own workload/area and may supervise work of others on achievement of
KSF outline within a team.
