Young Academics Operations Team is seeking a passionate Quality and Compliance Officer to join the team. About the role: As a Quality and Compliance Officer, you will support services to consistently meet and exceed the requirements of the National Quality Framework to deliver meaningful outcomes for children, families and educators. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of Assessment and Rating processes, providing targeted coaching and mentoring to Service Leaders to strengthen professional knowledge, confidence, and capability. Working across the network, you will support the consistent application of the National Quality Standards, while also identifying and addressing improvement opportunities within individual services. In partnership with the Operations team and Centre Managers, you will deliver practical support to strengthen compliance, conduct audits, embed best practice, and design QIP and SAT professional development initiatives, supporting services to achieve positive and sustainable Assessment and Rating results. As a service, compliance and child safety remain our highest priority, and you will be expected to uphold our child-safe practices in all aspects of your role. You will also collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to build strong, respectful partnerships with children, families and the wider community, fostering a supportive environment that enhances children’s wellbeing, confidence, and lifelong love of learning. This is a full-time position, working 38 hours per week (Monday – Friday). Our Head Office is located in Homebush West; however, travel is required regularly to all Young Academics services across Sydney. Key responsibilities: Support services to consistently meet and exceed the requirements of the National Quality Framework, delivering positive outcomes for children, families, and educators. Contribute to the design, coordination, and delivery of Assessment and Rating processes across the network. Provide targeted coaching and mentoring to Service Leaders to build professional knowledge, confidence, and capability. Promote the consistent application of the National Quality Standards across all services. Identify quality gaps and improvement opportunities within individual services and support the development of targeted improvement strategies. Partner with the Operations team and Centre Managers to strengthen compliance and regulatory readiness. Conduct audits and quality reviews to monitor compliance and validate practice. Support the embedding of best practice across all areas of service delivery. Design and deliver Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) professional development initiatives. Support services to achieve positive, sustainable Assessment and Rating outcomes. Travel regularly to services across Sydney to provide on-site support and guidance, as required. Qualifications, experience, and essential criteria: Extensive experience working in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector Experience in supporting Centre’s through the Assessment and Rating process with proven success Prior experience as Centre manager and Educational Leader Experience in writing and delivering training programs to teams Leadership and management experience Strong, confident, and motivated personality Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently Expert knowledge of the NQF and EYLF Strong understanding of the Child Safe Scheme and Child Safe Principles Knowledge of sector best practice/current trends/issues NSW Working with Children’s Check NSW Drivers Licence and own vehicle Child Safety Matters: At Young Academics, we prioritise children's safety and wellbeing.
