We are looking for a new Quality and Continuous improvement Manager at ABB Oy, IEC LV Motors in Vaasa. In this role you will be member of the production unit’s management team with the responsibility for the manufacturing operations of order-specific low voltage IEC motors.
The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid
This position reports to Production Unit Manager.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Coaching and leading a highly skilled Quality and Continuous improvement team, which consists of Quality Development, Supplier Quality, Quality Control, Customer Quality, CI Processes & Tools and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Leading and managing the awareness and fulfillment of customer quality requirements throughout the organization to ensure high quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction
  • Managing production unit quality audit programs and other certification related processes
  • Driving and leading process improvement and leveraging Lean methodologies for effective process definition, measurement, and controls
  • Providing the industry best practices and trends to the organization
  • Implementing HSE (health, safety and environment) and business compliance standards and regulations within the units and ensuring a safe working environment
  • Improving the operations processes and competence in line with the strategy and together with other functions in the production unit Driving productivity, delivery performance and cost optimization
  • Providing support for the whole team in problem solving

Qualifications for the role:

  • A B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree or other academic degree from a relevant field
  • Extensive (more than 5 years) experience in management and leadership
  • Strong track record in managing of quality and process development processes / projects
  • Good understanding of the overall order-delivery process and tools
  • Customer-focused attitude and service-oriented mentality
  • “Easy to approach” personality with the ability to trust the team and delegate tasks
  • Excellent English and Finnish, both written and spoken
  • Ability to make fast decisions with relevant arguments and understanding of customer requirements and diverse industrial applications.
  • Ideally, good technical knowledge of low voltage motors
  • Basic knowledge of SAP is seen a benefit
  • Experience from managing production operations is seen a benefit
