QUALITY & FACILITIES MANAGER

Formed over 125 years ago in the city of Leeds, our client is renowned in the electrical engineering distribution industry for their high levels of service, support, and customer satisfaction. Still privately owned, our client has expanded with branches across the UK.

SUMMARY:

The Quality and Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality management and the smooth operational running of facilities, utilities, and vehicles within this well-established electrical business. This role demands a self-starting and pragmatic individual comfortable with multitasking in a fast-paced commercial environment. Your expertise in problem-solving and process improvement will be pivotal in enhancing efficiency across various business functions, serving as a central reference point for quality management and operational excellence.
Reporting to the HR Manager on a daily basis, you will collaborate closely with directors to implement strategic changes. Success in this role requires experience working across all levels of a business, facilitating effective communication and cooperation throughout.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management: Lead Auditor or Equivalent Certification.
  • Proven track record in process improvement with demonstrable achievements.
  • Health and Safety qualification or willingness to undertake one.
  • Ability to write and review risk assessments for diverse activities.
  • Experience with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and thorough machinery inspection.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology for business development and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain equipment to high standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and evolving responsibilities.
  • High proficiency in Excel / Word.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Exposure or qualification in additional ISO standards such as ISO 27001, 45001, 37001, 50001, 31000.
  • Knowledge of ATEX / EX / UKEX hazardous areas with relevant certification.
  • Experience in managing Utilities and/or utilizing Energy Brokers.
  • Working knowledge of plant and plant maintenance including boilers, BMS (Building Management Systems), and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
  • Awareness of automotive and FLT (Forklift Truck) vehicle maintenance, including maintenance schedules, etc.
