Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Quality and Patient Safety Nurse Consultant is responsible for working with client organizations to promote a culture of safety, high reliability, positive patient and staff engagement, and performance excellence aligned with national patient safety goals, as well as state licensure and other regulatory requirements. The Patient Safety and Quality Nurse Consultant works collaboratively with the Deputy Managing Director of Performance Excellence and Health Care Operations and the Medical Director of Quality and Safety, to support the development and implementation of best-in-class quality and safety programs within client organizations, to support regulatory, compliance, accreditation and to mitigate organizational risk.
Responsibilities:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- Applicants must have at least 5 years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience as an RN in a recognized hospital, or psychiatric facility
- Supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity preferred as well as a graduate degree with a major in Nursing preferred.
- Education toward such a degree may be prorated based on the proportion of the requirements.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and other regulatory requirements with significant participation in these types of surveys.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and ability to set priorities and manage multiple demands effectively.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel within Massachusetts.
