Description:

Job Purpose: As Quality and Patient Safety Specialist you will be responsible for the delivery of specialist healthcare quality services required by Emirates Group Medical Services. You will oversee EGMS Quality and Patient Safety Plan, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality improvement.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • A non-patient facing role required to function as a facilitator, consultant and educator in relation to Emirates Group Medical Services (EGMS) Quality and patient safety plan. Providing supervision and guidance on regulatory, quality and risk management topics. Promoting a `just culture and fostering open reporting.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based policies and guidelines to ensure best practice and adherence to statutory/regulatory and accreditation requirements. Responsible for surveillance and recognizing of any areas related to quality or risk management, within the medical services and provide technical support to EGMS staff in quality improvement and risk management areas.
  • Evaluate and maintain EGMS quality systems and initiate improvements when required. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate appropriate quality initiatives. Work with line managers in developing a quality framework which meets the identified priorities for services. Provide technical expertise in implementation of new systems through facilitation and coordination of quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure adequate education programs related to quality and patient safety meet organizational requirements. Facilitate and evaluate multi-disciplinary quality education programs throughout EGMs.
  • Where relevant, perform regular quality and risk assessments of areas or services. Initiate follow up appointments with departmental leads and refer to the quality lead as appropriate. Maintain EGMS KPI monitoring systems and dashboard reporting functions.
  • Actively audits and reports on agreed metrics and indicators related to continues quality improvement. Manages quality performance by collating and validating data sources and setting benchmarks, identifying areas for development and conducts feedback and coaching to ensures standards of treatment and care are maintained.
  • Analyse data and advise on solutions or necessary actions required to ensure compliance with guidelines. Ensures minimal risk for the medical services in relation to healthcare quality, patient safety, regulation, and accreditation.
  • Liaise with licensing and external authorities or accreditation bodies i.e., Dubai Health Authority, Ministry of Health, ACHSI etc. as required on quality and technical issues within the scope of the role to maintain relations and ensure services developed by EGMS are appropriately benchmarked for best practice.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST MEET THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Medical/Safety/Healthcare
  • 3 years’ experience in healthcare quality , improvement or risk management.
  • Degree in a healthcare subject/profession
  • Post-graduate qualification at masters level (e.g. PGC, PGD or masters degree)
  • Previous experience in a quality or risk related role within an internationally accredited healthcare organization
  • Knowledge of DHA regulations
  • Evidence of quality or risk management education or study
  • Ability to learn and develop competency in healthcare quality and patient safety area.
  • Specialist Qualification or Certification related to healthcare quality, risk management or auditing (CPHQ, IHCQP, CPPS, ISO etc), is preferred
