Description:

Knowledge:

  • Practical knowledge of how to identify contractual problems and to develop relevant strategies/solutions and initiate corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of health and social care policies, procedures, legislation and regulations in respect of the relevant client groups
  • A knowledge and understanding of the operations of local government including the current financial, legal and political issues facing public sector management.
  • A clear understanding of contractual principals and basic contract law

Experience:

  • Experience of working within a contract management/monitoring capacity

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to demonstrate highly developed oral, written and presentational skills and to ensure the appropriate format of delivery.
  • Ability to set personal priorities, objectives and deadlines while maintaining a focus on the key service priorities/deliverables.
  • Ability to acquire new skills and demonstrate a strong commitment to learning/continuous professional development for self and others.
  • Ability to evidence the understanding of the Corporate objectives including the Council’s budget strategy and the Government directions, best value and key deliverable strategy.
  • Ability to work flexibly as a team member to achieve service objectives, targets and projects.
  • Ability to plan, manage and monitor projects and work programmes, including the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to make effective use of IT and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to develop good relationships with a wide variety of stakeholder, both within and without the Council.
  • An ability to assimilate and apply information relating to service delivery.
  • Ability to generate opportunities for initiating/developing improvements in partnerships to provide quality and responsive services for Council needs
