How you make a difference:
The Quality Assurance Coordinator, reporting to the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher licensed medical professional, oversees the systematic collection, evaluation, and distribution of performance data for designated quality improvement initiatives in the correctional facility. They meticulously maintain and organize documents, ensuring compliance with protocol requirements and adhering to state and federal healthcare standards throughout the process. The role demands a keen attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards in healthcare quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and oversee data entry for relevant quality performance indicators, utilizing statistical methods and quality tools to measure process performance.
- Prepare formal reports summarizing quality performance and evaluate the appropriateness of facility quality control plans and practices.
- Design, schedule, and conduct quality review audits, coordinating chart and medical record reviews, and abstracting relevant data as needed.
- Generate various reports on performance against quality indicators and actively participate in planning, developing, coordinating, and presenting training and educational programs.
- Assist in the interview process by conducting job shadowing sessions for potential staff and contribute to the orientation and training of new employees.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Training in processes and quality tools
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in a QA setting or hold certificate in quality (i.e. Green Belt, Certified Quality Technician, Quality Improvement Associate or Quality Inspector)
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience
Licenses/Certifications
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA
