Description:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team in the Chicago or Phoenix office. Our QA team is embedded within scrum teams, working side-by-side with Development and Product in a true agile environment. The QA Engineer will create and execute test plans, and ensure a high quality experience for our customers.
The ideal candidate has a passion for quality and testing, a strong understanding of QA best practices, experience with manual and automated testing, is extremely curious, and has a “can-do” attitude. As a QA engineer, you will be responsible for driving customer confidence by assuring the quality of BigTime’s current and future products. We are on a journey of “shifting left” and you will play a big part of our success in making quality fundamental across our software development process.
Responsibilities:
- Guide team in creation of thorough and organized documentation for test cases by clearly articulating test objectives, steps, and expected results
- Write detailed bug reports that include clear descriptions of the issue with pre-conditions, reproduction steps, screenshots, videos, etc. and expected results
- Collaborate directly with product managers, UX designers, and software engineers to understand system requirements, use cases, and performance considerations
- Define, develop, and implement quality assurance practices, procedures, and test cases and test plans
- Work with the support organization to triage and reproduce customer-reported issues and ensure root causes and not just symptoms are identified and resolved.
- Perform regression testing (manual and running automated tests) to assure changes to the current release do not adversely affect previously implemented functionality
- Create automated test cases with mabl
- Write, debug, and maintain test scripts for positive, negative, and boundary condition cases.
- Communicate and escalate unacceptable risks to quality with assigned scrum team and management
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and the collection of measures put in place to ensure consistency and improvement in the way we test software and suggest improvements
