Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re actively seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our dynamic technical team in Arndell Park. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing our quality assurance department and team members. Your primary focus will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust system for quality and reliability testing within our fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
This position is integral to our operations, requiring seamless collaboration with the operations team to uphold the exceptional quality of our products. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our quality programs and procedures consistently meet the highest standards.
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Technical Compliance, you’ll lead the quality assurance team on-site, placing a strong focus on people and systems.

Your new role will include:

  • Create a positive Food Safety Culture through leading the implementation of site Food Safety Culture Program initiatives
  • Managing a team of technical qualified QA staff to carry out verification & validation activities as set for their Operating Rhythms
  • Driving the development of QA Team training through the Capability framework and skills matrix, this is supported by a Technical Trainer role
  • Further developing, implementing the site Quality Management System in meeting legislative and customer requirements
  • Managing all external audits, site Lead for Third party audits. Using audit findings to drive ongoing continuous improvements
  • Using the analysis of lead and lag indicators to place focus on improvement initiatives using lean principles
  • Championing the importance of quality assurance on the factory floor through high visibility of the QA team and ensuring QA involvement in processes
  • Supporting the commercialisation of new product development processes and conducting artwork reviews

You have a true passion for quality and food safety. To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Minimum of 5 + years’ experience in a similar management position
  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or equivalent
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing/FMCG business, preferably meat processing
  • Experience driving a positive Food Safety Culture
  • Possesses strong Leadership skills
  • Sound Technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and emotional intelligence.
  • Knowledge and application in quality management systems, GFSI standards
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with meeting retail supermarkets expectations
  • Experience with import and export requirement
