Position Overview: As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be reporting to the Vice President of Operations and responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS) at our London Foundry & Machine Shop, aligning with site and Bradken objectives. You will be overseeing three direct reports: QC Inspectors, Quality Technicians, and the Document Controller. This pivotal role serves both internal and external customers, ensuring products are manufactured safely, meeting customer quality expectations, achieving on-time delivery, and maintaining cost standards. Additionally, you will focus on improving yield of right-first-time products and driving continual improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and decrease manufacturing costs.
As a leadership role, the Quality Manager will ensure excellence in delivering quality products and processes by efficiently deploying the Quality Management System. You will drive quality capability across management and employee teams, maintain internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction, and uphold certification to ISO9001.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to London leaders in quality assurance, control, and improvement
  • Coach and mentor managers, leaders, and employees in quality systems and product excellence
  • Collaborate with quality personnel from other Bradken sites on strategic projects
  • Manage quality processes and systems proactively to support organizational plans

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
  • Extensive experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management principles
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with organizational health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Administer and revise the quality system manual to maintain ISO 9001 compliance
  • Lead internal and external audits, establish and maintain quality control standards
  • Analyze operations to eliminate potential quality losses and ensure on-time delivery
  • Coordinate with engineering and production control to optimize workflow
  • Participate in efficiency and process improvement projects
  • Conduct month-end reporting and maintain departmental records
  • Collaborate with vendors on material and equipment purchases
