YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualification in related Science field (Chemistry, Biology, Food Technology, Microbiology)
• 3 plus years in the food industry in a quality assurance role with knowledge of HACCP, VACCP and TACCP would be ideal
• Proven ability to juggle competitive timelines and priorities
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and work as part of a team while also working autonomously
• Internal and external audit experience on FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Halal and Kosher or similar fields
• Understanding of Australian and international legislation and standards

YOUR ROLE

It is an exciting time to join the Quality team at Ixom as we continue along our journey of ongoing expansion, change, and transformation. An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our Villawood team, based in Sydney’s western suburbs. You will be a member of wider Quality community group where experiences and learnings are shared across the wider IXOM business.
This is an autonomous role, reporting to our Quality Assurance Team Leader, where you will contribute to Quality Assurance activities within our Life Sciences food business. This role will suit a Quality Assurance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and progress in an independent role.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work at our Villawood site most of the week, with some flexibility.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct internal audits as required
• Maintain Allergen Management Program through cleaning and allergen verification activities
• Maintain and coordinate the VACCP and TACCP programs for IXOM
• Maintain compliance to QMS, HACCP and food safety documentation including Halal, Kosher and Rainforest requirements.
• Monthly reporting to the site for key quality objectives
• Provide and deliver training for quality assurance components where required
• Work with the commercial and operational teams to ensure all quality requirements are met for products supplied in the business area
• Liaison with regulators and other key influencers where required
• Lead the resolution of quality incidents and quality customer complaints
• Support and build a food safety culture
