Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to fulfill a 4-month contract, and partner their skills with a global cannabinoid company, committed to advancing cannabis research, technology and product development. Working at the Stayner ON manufacturing facility, this position supports monitoring of process control methods and parameters, batch record review, supplier quality, customer complaints, internal and external audits and maintaining the QMS Standards.

• $26/hr
• Full time (40) hrs/week
• Day shift hours
• 4-month contract

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintaining compliance with the laws and regulations related to medical cannabis
• Conduct review and support activities related to QA records including CAPAs, batch record review, label approvals, and other related Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Complete and prepare appropriate documentation as required i.e., reports, authoring SOPs, and Work Instructions
• Conduct QA activities related to inspections, environmental monitoring, cannabis exports and returns
• Support problem solving teams using quality principals and tools for root cause analysis, corrective actions, verification and effectiveness
• Support and execute procedures and processes to support Quality Management System
• Support problem solving teams using quality principals and tools for root cause analysis, corrective actions, verification and effectiveness
• Support complaint and deviation investigations, and ensure appropriate Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) are implemented and closed in a timely manner
• Liaise with external suppliers and contract manufacturing organizations and review supplier documentation to ensure Quality and Company requirements are met and maintained.
• Perform other job duties as assigned

What do you bring?

• Post-Secondary education in relevant field
• Experience working in cannabis companies is considered an asset
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar position
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office
• Experience using EQMS and ERP systems is considered an asset.
• Problem Solving, Project Management and strong communication skills

• Able to pass in a Criminal Record CheckOwn transportation (not public transit accessible)
