QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTER

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking experienced Quality Assurance Testers for a 12 month contract opportunity based in Markham, ON.

Quality Assurance Tester Job Details

• You will become an expert on our clients administration system and will participate in various aspects of test planning and execution
• you will assist in developing effective strategies and test plans for both manual and automated QA Frameworks
• You will participate in scrum ceremonies and when applicable, provide input on the testability of requirements and acceptance criteria

Quality Assurance Tester - Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing at various levels (component, system, system integration, E2E, useracceptance) utilizing techniques such as exploratory, browser compatibility, parallel testing, etc.
• Perform manual exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and acceptance testing
• Participate in Agile Scrum grooming meetings with the IS team and stakeholders to validate requirementsand identify risks
• Assist in creating and developing an automated software testing framework
• Participate in scrum ceremonies and advocate for CI/CD and QA best practices
• Create and execute test cases/suites and document processes and procedures
• Assist in developing standards around reporting issues via reproducible steps, screenshots, and relevantinformation
• Prioritize and escalate top incoming issues, while also prioritizing backlog issues to reduce technical debtand improve UX
• Become a software business process expert through gaining knowledge, staying abreast of technologytrends & developments in the insurance industry and using best practices

Quality Assurance Tester - Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of experience as an SQA and 1+ years of QA automation experience
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or any related field of study
• ISTQB certification preferred
• Able to identify and troubleshoot problem areas through testing techniques
• Knowledge of SDLC, testing concepts, automated testing frameworks like Data Driven, Keyword driven,BDD framework
• Hands on knowledge of QA testing using automation stack – Selenium, Java, Maven, TestNG,Bitbucket/GitHub
