Description:
An exciting opportunity to join Ireland’s leading independent manufacturer of concrete and bituminous construction materials. We are currently hiring quality control trainees to join our team. The successful candidates will be based at our headquarters Lab in Dunboyne, Co.Meath for the initial training period. Upon completion of the training period, you will be given a company van and will carry out your role on Customer sites throughout the greater Dublin area.
This is a junior/trainee role within our technical department. This position is suited to secondary school graduates, early careers applicants and individuals seeking to change careers. Materials testing experience is not a requirement for this position and all successful applicants will be given full and comprehensive on the job training to learn testing methods and product specifics. Candidates will initially shadow both lab managers and senior QC team members in order to gain the skills necessary to carry out the role.
We are open to both full and part-time applications for this position.
Responsibilities:
- A typical working day involves carrying out physical testing of a range of building materials such as aggregates (sand, stone, gravel), ready-mix concrete, concrete blocks, paving blocks / flags and road making (bituminous) materials. These materials are routinely tested for size conformity and strength.
- You must be willing and able to carry out physical work associated with sampling and testing of materials. Good written and record keeping abilities are required as well as being confident in using I.T. equipment and software.
