Position Summary
The Quality Control Coordinator serves as a vital link in assuring satisfactory completion and performance accountability for field construction activities. In this capacity the Quality Control Coordinator leads site implementation and verification of work performance, including integration with site quality control for administration of construction quality accountability.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Review client specifications and requirements, strive to achieve full compliance with all required standards.
  • Prior to start of project create a submission list to be used for construction.
  • Coordinate all site inspections with the site subcontractors
  • Ensure that all submissions and inspection reports are accurate/in compliance and that all attached documents are current status, as per the timelines in the contract
  • Ensure all work is correctly prepared prior to any inspection being undertaken (where testing is to be performed or coordinated by QCC)
  • Assist the site Superintendent in the organization, maintenance and control of the quality system
  • Prepare nonconformance reports to the Vice President of Construction / owner and assist in developing corrective actions, confirm corrective actions have been completed
  • Assist the Vice President of Construction and/or the Site Superintendent in resolving any discrepancies and ambiguities
  • Coordinate with the site subcontractors to ensure that communications exist and are maintained
  • Review work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices and the client contract specializations
  • Implement the Quality Assurance/Quality Control management system at site
  • Complete testing as required by operations staff
  • Coordinate any and all testing on and off site
  • Communicate with the client representative(s)
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes, specifications and standards
  • Participate in the site internal and external site audits
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is complied and completed for as-built hand over.
  • Ensure all technical documents relative to site quality control are current status.
  • Participate and ensure that all monitoring for MOE requirements is done for the Bray Quarry
  • Work within the Bray Way
  • Maintain positive status as it pertains to the Nuclear Testing equipment
  • Ensure all testing equipment is in good working order
  • Provide the Vice President of Construction with all purchase requisitions in order to complete all testing required

Required Skills, Qualifications and Physical Demands

  • A post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • May routinely require the employee to climb, bend, push, pull or lift and /or carry objects.
  • Involves walking and driving
  • May be required to work in outside weather conditions, in wet and/or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, near moving parts and traffic, near electrical works and/or vibration.
