JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control (QC) Employee to join our team. The QC Employee will be responsible for testing the quality of plastics and products to determine their recyclability and overall quality. This role is crucial in ensuring that only high-quality, recyclable plastics and products are processed, contributing to our mission of sustainable waste management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Certificate, Diploma or University degree with Plastic or Chemistry related majors.
- Plastics and processing knowledge including extrusion, injection molding will be an asset
- Understanding of plastics test equipment: MI, Moisture analysis, density, physical testing will be an asset
- Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, proportion, statistics, process control analysis.
- Knowledge of chemical / analytical instruments: GC, FTIR, DSC will be an asset.
- Knowledge of Quality Management System, e.g., ISO9001 will be an asset
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, email, Access.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong desire to learn and grow in the plastics recycling industry.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily laboratory activities, including sample collection and QC testing.
- Perform trace analysis using headspace GC to ensure product quality.
- Communicate test results to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment according to protocols.
- Support Product Development work under the guidance of senior staff.
