ABOUT YOU

For this appointment we are seeking an experienced quality professional within Aged Care or an adjacent industry. The successful candidate will have an established track record in improving quality, safety and compliance outcomes, ideally within the Residential Aged Care setting. In addition, the successful candidate will possess:

  • Ideally a current Registered Nursing registration, or registration as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
  • Diploma of Internal Quality Auditing and/or equivalent experience in a quality and compliance focused role in the community services or residential aged care service sector. (Essential)
  • Proven ability to effectively implement organisational wide initiatives, with significant experience influencing teams in building a quality improvement culture.
  • Proven and high level computer skills including MS Office (Excel and Word essential), Quality Management System and Benchmarking tools.
  • Demonstratable agility and ability to manage multiple shifting priorities.
  • Experience preparing for and hosting Residential Aged Care, Home Care and NDIS provider accreditation and registration audits. (Desirable)
  • Good understanding of the application of the legislation governing Aged Care operations across Residential Aged Care, Retirement Living, Home Care and NDIS (desirable).
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19 – 2 shots.
  • Vaccinated against Influenza (annually).
  • Willing to complete a NDIS Workers Check.

The Quality Coordinator will assist in the oversight of high-quality clinical outcomes and ongoing quality improvement initiatives to its resident cohort, providing extensive regulatory and compliance support to enhance resident-centred care outcomes. The Quality Coordinator will possess a proactive curiosity in the enhancement of quality care and display a high degree of agility and adaptability to changing priorities as they arise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Manager, the Quality Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordination in consultation with the Manager putting in place systems to facilitate organisational compliance with regulatory obligations in accordance with legislation within the Quality Management System.
  • Assist and support the Manager in preparing Aged Care Departments in achieving Accreditation, ensuring compliance with the ACQSC and relevant legislation’s.
  • Provide regular reports (both qualitative and quantitative) to the Department Managers on quality milestones, trends and outcomes.
  • Coordinate the review process for internal Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate the continuous improvement program.
  • Oversee the internal auditing program driving continuous improvements and corrective actions in response to audit outcomes.
  • Attend monthly submission of MOA Quality Indicators and relevant audits.
  • Comply with risk management policies and procedures and instructions.
  • Day to day embodiment of the organisations’ Vision and Values.
