Description:

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

  • Experience with problem solving tools such as Red X, 8D, Fault Tree, 5-why.

Responsibilities:

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Quality Engineer I to support the manufacture and delivery of some of the most advanced and highly utilized aircraft technology in aviation. You will support deliveries for Boeing and Airbus aircrafts. You will also lead projects and make highly visible contributions to development, modifications, applications, maintenance, quality evaluations, control systems, and protocols.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products.
  • Works with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
  • Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
  • Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation. Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes.
  • Ensures all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including facilitation of PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc. Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
  • Designs and implements product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers.
  • Responsible for development of new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.
  • Leads projects targeting continuous improvement areas, addressing quality performance, or enhancing processes and products.
