Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring for a Quality Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join our team located in Hazelwood, MO.

THIS IS AN EXCITING POSITION IN SUPPORT MULTIPLE PROGRAMS INCLUDING F/15 AND F/A-18 WITHIN THE AIR DOMINANCE QUALITY TEAM. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES ARE PREFERRED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE IN:

  • Managing Escape Containment activities (inventory research, escape alerts, DNS, DNR, etc.)
  • Primary facilitation for RCCA activities related to PDNs, Escapes and High Scrap
  • Utilizing AS9145 APQP principals of FMEA, MSA, Process Control & 8D (AS13004, 13003, 13006 & 13000 respectively)
  • Utilizing MBD systems for effective dimensional & component analysis (CATIA, Unigraphic, etc.)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality job role
  • 3+ years of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • Experience analyzing data and generating metrics reports

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Level 4: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ year of experience working in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or in a regulated industry
  • Experience leading and executing Advance Product Quality Planning Activities (APQP)
  • Experience working with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS91001))
  • Experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; and developing conclusions

Responsibilities:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances. Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction.
