Description:

QUALITY ENGINEER

Star Extruded Shapes is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and procedures through rigorous inspections, implementation of quality control measures, and identification of areas for improvement.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to ensuring Star?s products are high-quality to meet or exceed customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering or quality assurance, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis
  • Solid understanding of ISO9001:2015 and it?s requirements
  • Be able to run ISO audits in teams, or individually
  • Certification in Quality Assurance or engineering
  • Automotive experience a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are
  • Update our Quality Management System (QMS) with fixes and improvements
  • Audit our systems based on ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures
  • Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential issues of nonconformance as early as possible
  • Identify the root cause of defects and recommend solutions
  • Prepare reports on nonconformances and corrective/preventive actions
  • Review current quality documentation for accuracy and suitability
  • Communicate with customers to ensure quality standards per Supplier Quality Requirements
  • Work closely with internal teams to improving the quality of products supplied by Star
  • Perform other duties as assigned
