Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Stantec has been successful in securing the Superintendent Services contract for the Aura and Harmony External Water Supply and Sewerage Infrastructure project and wants to engage a Quality Inspector to be part of the Superintendent team to work on site in the Sunshine Coast . This position is an approximately 6 to 9 month full time contract position for 5 days per week (45hr).
Stantec aims to enter into a subcontract agreement with a proprietary limited company for this role however will also consider other alternative arrangements.
This is a contract position commencing early March 2024 with an anticipated contract end date between end of December 2024 to March 2025.
The position is primarily site-based position with an option to perform some of the tasks working from home. The temporary construction offices are located in Meridan Way, Meridan Plains, Sunshine Coast, QLD. Working hours are generally between 7AM and 5PM, Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend works. It is anticipated that if weekend works are required, the working hours will be kept to a minimum and primarily be on Saturdays.
You will be joining a team which consists of a Superintendent, two Superintendent Representatives, two Quality Inspectors, an Environmental Officer, Project Administrator and a Contract Administrator.

THE DUTIES OF THE QUALITY INSPECTOR WILL INCLUDE:

  • Perform daily quality control and assurance inspections, auditing for compliance of the construction works with the project specifications
  • Perform regular environmental and WHS surveys working closely with the Stantec Environmental and WHS team members
  • Perform review of project documentation including ITPs, ITCs, contractor management plans and drawings for compliance with the project specifications
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders including the Client and the Contractor
  • Providing support in the assessment of monthly progress and variation claims
  • Sign-off on completed Inspections Test Plans
  • Identification of defects

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU’LL BRING:

  • Qualification in relevant Engineering field preferably Civil
  • Solid experience in the construction of large size in-ground pipelines using open cut and trenchless construction methods
  • Approximately 10 to 15 years’ work experience with a solid site-based / field experience
  • Ability to remain impartial and make judgments based on the contract documentation
  • Able to read and understand Primavera P6 Program
  • Sound knowledge of Quality management
  • Sound knowledge of drawings and specifications interpretation
  • Knowledge of contract management is preferred
  • Own vehicle – 4WD with orange hazard warning light, reverse beeper and (portable) UHF radio
  • Own laptop, mobile phone
  • Professional indemnity and public liability insurances if contracting directly to Stantec.
