Hexcel is currently seeking an Quality Leader – Advanced Quality for our Duxford, UK location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

• Manage and lead APQP
• Mentor Project Managers on risk and change management and other Advanced Quality Tools related to projects for New Product Development, New Product Introduction, Transfer of Work, and Change Projects.
• Plan the strategy to bring about the standardisation and sustain in all Hexcel sites for APQP, ensuring that the execution is compliant to the strategy
• Plan the strategy to bring about the standardisation and sustain in all Hexcel sites for APQP, ensuring that the execution is compliant to the strategy
• Use feedback for continual improvement of the Hexcel APQP methodology
• Manage customer expectations or negotiate an agreed compromise on APQP deliverables
• Lead, through APQP philosophies, that products are robust and capable
• Guide customers in APQP for Hexcel product/process
• Promote, develop and improve the APQP process and other Advanced Quality tools for Hexcel
• Contribute to the senior quality leadership team supporting strategic initiatives to bring about Zero Defect and World Class

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering or scientific discipline
• Good knowledge of aspects of quality (refer to ISO 9001)
• Good and proven skills in project management
• Strong persuasive and negotiation skills in dealing with both internal, and external third party agencies and stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to articulate clearly to all interested parties
• Ability to use good judgement when required to lead to a decision
• Good knowledge of tools in management of project, risk, safety, regulatory, statutory and data
• Strong command of English for business purposes
• Familiarity with AS9145 and AS13100 (APQP) and associated tools or equivalent
