Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Quality Leader for our Oriented Strand Board (OSB) manufacturing site in Englehart, Ontario.

Responsibilities:
- Routine tours of the plant and wood yard, interacting with production workers to help identify quality-related concerns and corrective actions.
- Monitor the key properties of product being produced to ensure they meet quality standards
- Monitor operational control limits of key equipment such as: Stranders, heat energy, drying, pressing and finishing machinery to produce quality product at expected production levels
- Monitor key process variables that affect raw material usages ensuring raw material usage is at expected levels and meet or exceed cost forecasts
- Interface with and maintain strong working relationships with production and maintenance teams. Provide leadership to troubleshoot operating and maintenance issues affecting quality or production
- Implementing best practices, identifying non-value add elements and modeling continuous process improvement
- Provide technical expertise for the OSB manufacturing process
- Support technical innovation and initiatives at the plant site and work with area owners and engineers on new projects
- Increase efficiency while maintaining consistency of the manufacturing process
- Foster strong relationships between health & safety, production, mechanical, electrical and quality departments; maintain a team environment
- Initiate improvements and enhancement concepts to ensure process operations are industry leading
- Manage raw materials inventory in a in a dynamic and ever-changing production environment
- Oversee and lead the blender cleaning jobs, which includes contractor management
