Description:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Manage and oversee project quality to ensure compliance to codes, standards, regulations, equipment specific specifications, and project QMS requirements.
  • Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.
  • Set up a site inspection/audit programme, for site activities for subcontractors.
  • Ensure that subcontractor documentation is fully compliant with the specification requirements.
  • Review, control and update the distribution of Quality management procedures and related procedures for infrastructure, Civil, Electrical and other subcontractors.
  • Monitor and control the inputs of subcontractors in the areas such as welding, ensure that repair registers are up to date and accurate.
  • Review and input to subcontractor`s documentation by inserting hold and witness points, monitor and control incoming goods for compliance to requirements.
  • Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the Client QC representative, and provide written minutes to SHEQ Head Office
  • Provide practical and technical welding and fabrication QA guidance, support, assistance, and mentoring.
  • Taking full responsibility for hold-point releases once all project QMS functions have been completed and the equipment is ready to go into the next work stage.
  • Developing and implementing risk-based inspection (RBI) activities and processes, using API 650 series and other similar programs to develop internal standard practices.
  • Managing inspection, NDE, and testing plans for new construction, repair work, and alterations.
  • Review codes and standards and apply them across site activities.
  • Manage construction processes, plant equipment, inspection and NDE personnel certification and QMS internal audits.
  • Maintain by audit and limit the risk of poor suppliers getting onto site.
  • Ensure that points are not bypassed, and that all inputs to QCP are reviewed and adequate and approved.
  • Detailed review of the contents of the QADP for acceptance.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Registration as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor would be advantageous.
  • Strong coordination and organization skills, with strict emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Advance knowledge of qualifying ASME WPS and welder/welding operator qualifications, including local regulation requirements.
  • Knowledge in codes like ASME / AWS D1.1/ BS EN and ISO standards.
  • 10years related experience in QA/Welding environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including advanced knowledge of AWS A3.0 Welding Terms and Definitions. Advanced knowledge of welding inspection and related NDE methods (MT, PT, UT, and RT), including ASME Sec. V requirements.
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and teams.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office/Excel/MS Word/ Power point.

Responsibilities:

An experienced Quality Assurance Manager to manage the welding and fabrication quality control and ensure all work performed by Lesedi and subcontractors conform to our customer`s relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements. Deliverables in terms of client requirements.
