Description:

Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
The Quality, Risk and Development Manager’s primary role is to identify opportunities to improve the quality and safety of patient care. This is achieved by supporting a positive quality improvement culture, underpinned by an effective Quality and Risk Management Framework.

The Position

  • Maintains the policy library and participates in the introduction and review of policies and procedures.
  • Ensures education programs focus on issues relevant to the organisation’s clinical profile, identified clinical risks and service development plans.
  • Participates and attends meetings as required.
  • Ensures that relationships with all caregivers are conducive to harmonious working relationships and pro-active problem solving.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work efficiently when unsupervised.
  • Undertakes any other project(s) as designated by Director of Nursing and Patient Experience.
  • Identify internal and external partnership and business opportunities to enhance the Quality and Developmental services of the health service.
  • Act as a resource and advisor to the Hospital Management Committee and to Leaders on quality and development issues and continuous quality improvement methodology.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders within SJGHC Group and externally i.e. Universities, Department of Health and represent SJGHC when required.
  • Track and utilise key performance indicators to inform organisational performance improvement and clinical practice.
  • Provide knowledge and support to the various clinical and corporate committees in implementing quality improvement and risk management into all aspects of the service.
  • Contribute to the promotion of research based clinical practices (according to professional background).

You will have a relevant healthcare tertiary qualification, with five years post graduate clinical experience and demonstrate knowledge of current evidence-based nursing practices to uphold total quality patient care. In your senior experience you will have a proven ability in the management of resources and coordination of department education activities.
To succeed, you will possess a Postgraduate qualification in health, training or education or working towards and demonstrate leadership, team building and organisational abilities. You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to staff in a sensitive and professional manner.
