Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lansing Delta Township on a full-time basis.

YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS):

  • MUST have the ability to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)
  • MUST have the ability to work overtime as needed
  • 2 years of quality experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

WHAT CAN GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS):

  • 3+ years of quality experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/engineering/business or a related field
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience with launch activities
  • GMS expert
  • Experience using Kronos

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The Quality Shift Leader will support the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment and participate in training and developing of salaried and hourly employees, and in the development of highly effective teams. The Quality Shift Leader will also support Global Manufacturing System (GMS) processes across multiple departments and serves as a resource in supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas while helping to meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals and utilize resources to solve quality issues
  • Build and maintain quality relationships across departments
  • Perform start of shift procedures; including cross shift communication
  • Manpower coordination across shift
  • Attend production ops meetings
  • Conduct huddles with GLs
  • Initiate and provide support for containments
  • Review salary vacation/rotation schedule
  • Monitor SIRs
  • Perform Layered Audits
  • Participate in staff Layered Audits
  • Conduct BPD reviews with GLs
  • Review QCOS books
  • Flex check and implementation review
  • Perform end of shift processes
  • Coach and Teach GL’s
  • Form Partnership with Production Shift Leaders
  • Keep GL’s on task with Level 4/5 boards
  • Support Level 2 initiatives
  • Perform SOTs
  • Drive EFTQ & DRR in 5F
  • Manage time keeping coding issue/Doc 8 process
  • Responsible for Countermeasures for Level 2
