Role reports to: Canada Franchise Quality Manager – External Quality
Location: 890 Woodlawn Rd. W. Guelph, ON. Remote and hybrid options will also be considered.
Travel %: 5% local

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) program is required (A focused degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Biological Sciences is preferred)
  • Maintains a high level of organization in a dynamic environment
  • A desire to tackle problems keeping the end user at the center (Consumer-centric Focus)
  • Strong social skills, including professional communications, both orally and through email, with internal and external partners
  • Ability to take initiative to continuously improve personally and through optimizing processes used in the role
  • Strong computer skills (eg. use of Word, Outlook and Excel), and the ability to learn new software systems
  • Able to work effectively in a team through open communication and collaboration
  • Ability to action immediate business needs while simultaneously balancing an End to End mindset to seek understanding of key stakeholder needs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industry experience in a Consumer Product company an asset, specifically in the area of Quality & Compliance
  • Experience with inventory control systems such as SAP (or other) an asset
  • Experience with electronic software systems such as EtQ, Adobe, and Tru an asset

Responsibilities:

The Quality Specialist– Batch Release Canada will be be a key member of the Franchise Quality Team team helping achieve timely delivery of consumer products to the Canadian market. In addition to maintaining and publishing key performance metrics for the team, you will get an overview of the intricacies of a complex supply chain and challenges of navigating through it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and review quality documentation against pre-determined specifications, including but not limited to batch records, certificates of analysis, and certificates of manufacture for product approval.
  • Prioritize batch release review activities and oversee management of a shared e-mail inbox
  • Partner with the internal quality team to support initiatives with internal and external and manufacturers on quality related issues.
  • Support the collection, review, and organization of master documentation data, to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
  • Lead and provide support to various continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our competitiveness in the market
  • Maintain oversight of all batches awaiting release and focus on prioritizing batch reviews such that urgent batches are handled as soon as possible, and non-urgent items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support to Quality investigations and CAPA plans associated with Canadian batch release
  • Ownership and Maintenance of Annual Programs related to batch release such as Annual Confimatory Testing and Full Batch Record Reviews
