About the role
The QSE Co-ordinator is responsible for monitoring, identifying, and closing out gaps in the QMS to ensure full compliance. This is tier two 12 month contact at and requires a strong individual to lead and mentor a team of seven QA Technicians to deploy standards across the site. Reporting into the Quality and Environment Manager, the aim to drive Quality, Food Safety and Environmental standards in the manufacturing facility resulting in continuous quality improvement.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality, legality & safety of all products and compliance with ISO standards.
  • Review and maintain the QMS against internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct gap analysis on systems and corrective actions.
  • Trending of KPI’S root causes and close outs.
  • Provide technical support to all departments regarding ISO standards in daily work practices.
  • Ensure the site wide internal audit schedule is maintained.
  • Participate in external and corporate audits and preparation of reports as required.
  • Stay up to date with group and industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to quality, food safety and environmental management.

General responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop good working relationships with key stakeholders and customers, ensuring SLA’s and ways of working are agreed and documented.
  • Identifying and closing any skills/proficiency gaps.
  • Embrace and deliver a competitive & collaborative high-performance team mindset.
  • Act promptly to address any performance issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science.
  • 4+ years industry experience partaking in BRC/ISO audits.
  • Strong technical background

  • Food Safety FSSC22000 standard, Food Safety Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) Implementation and Management, Food Microbiology and Contamination Control
  • Environmental ISO14001 standard, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Environmental Monitoring and Reporting Skills, Waste Management and Pollution Prevention Knowledge, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Regulations and Compliance Knowledge
  • Quality ISO9001 standard, Legal Metrology, Quality Assurance and Control Processes
