Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Danfoss is looking for a 2nd shift Quality Technician to join our Ames, Iowa location in the US. The Quality Technician is the primary Quality Assurance floor contact providing day to day quality support to Operations. The 2nd shift Quality Technician will ensure Quality procedures and standards are being followed, as well as ensure product conformance, while striving to exceed customer expectations. This individual will use independent judgement and exercise discretion in executing their duties while working with a Quality Inspector. The 2nd shift position will serve as a liaison between Procurement, Suppliers, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Production. This position will demand high visibility on the factory floor and will participate in improvement activities for Danfoss. The 2nd shift position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager, with dotted line responsibility to 2nd shift Team Leaders.
BACKGROUND & SKILLS
- High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Four years’ experience and/or training on Danfoss products and processes; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Assembly and component knowledge desired
- Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes preferred
Preferred qualifications
- ASQ Certifications (CQT, CQE, CQA, CSSGB, etc.)
- Six Sigma Training

- Able to read prints and correctly interpret GD&T symbols
- Good communication skills; articulate and diplomatic

- Familiar with basic SAP, Inspection techniques, and standard quality tools. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, hear, and use hands. Employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds in a team lift. Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, and reach
