Description:

This quant trading investment group has a newly created role for an experienced UK tax professional to join their growing tax team and manage various aspects of the Group’s UK and international tax compliance obligations. The successful candidate will be based in our London office and reporting to the Tax Director based in the UK.

This role will manage and oversee the outsourced service provider who files the tax returns across all jurisdictions. This role will require you to be in the office 4 days per week where they provide lunch.

  • Review of direct and indirect tax returns prepared by outsourced service providers for the management companies in the Group. This includes liaising with internal teams and review or preparation of information to be provided to the outsourced service providers.
  • Provide tax support for the audited financial statements, including preparation of numbers and disclosures.
  • Maintain and manage a compliance calendar to ensure tax filing requirements are met in all locations.
  • Assist with management of tax payments in the various jurisdictions, including direct and indirect taxes, as well as withholding tax and employment taxes.
  • Assist in and liaise with advisors on preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation and reporting requirements under CBCR, FATCA and CRS matters including registration and compliance.
  • Assist with monitoring international tax developments and other projects as directed, for example considerations for addressing new markets/jurisdictions.
  • Work with local advisors where appropriate to provide tax advice on miscellaneous matters.
  • Interaction with various other internal departments including Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and HR.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant tax compliance and reporting experience within a Professional Services firm and experience of working in an-house tax team preferred
  • Relevant recognized qualification (ACA, CTA, or equivalent)
  • Process and improvement-oriented
  • Team player with strong work ethic
  • Detail oriented; demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent analytical skills and judgement
  • Strong technical proficiency with MS Excel
  • Ability to multi-task as well as meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Workday preferred
