Description:

CMC Markets strives to provide the best trading experience for a wide spectrum of clients to participate in the financial markets. In order to expand this team, we We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantitative Analyst to join our fast-growing Derivatives team. The right candidate will have responsibility for the full cycle of our pricing models including development, improvement, testing, and validation covering an expanding product range. Those models include valuation models of Derivatives, calibration of volatility and interest rate curves. This role will offer a varied and fast-paced working environment, regularly interacting with the dealing, operations, risk and IT development teams. This is an excellent opportunity to be sitting in the core of the business and develop a deep understanding of the Market Making financial industry.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and offer critical thinking around the existing model suite. Proposing modifications and improvements and supervising/coordinating the implementation of those with our Quantitative Development team.
  • Keeping close to industry developments and standards guaranteeing that the firm remains at the forefront of innovation and trends.
  • Where new models are required to support the development of the Derivatives offering, conduct research and evaluate most appropriate course of action. Evolve where required to fit the specific needs of the team.
  • Coach and mentor younger members of the Derivatives team.
  • Work with the Development teams to implement and improve all existing algorithms.
  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, computer science or equivalent disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ideally with front-office facing FX, Equities, Fixed Income or derivatives experience.
  • An interest for academic research around Options, Volatility and more broadly Derivatives.
  • Between 3 and 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of general financial products and derivatives. Understanding of market microstructure.
  • Strong skills in Excel and Python, SQL and time-series databases.
  • Experience with Pandas, NumPy, Matlab, R or other mathematical/statistical languages/packages.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
