JOB DESCRIPTION

U.S. Bank is seeking the full-time position of Quantitative Model Analyst in Minneapolis, MN. Multiple positions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics or Financial Mathematics and 6 months of quantitative financial analysis experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Must also have 6 months of experience with each of the following: (1) providing complex business model design with automated systems using C# and Python; (2) regression techniques, parametric and nonparametric algorithms, and time series techniques; (3) model validation tests and methodologies using python or similar package; (4) evaluating quantitative and qualitative risk factors, industry risks, competition risks, and risk management approaches; and (5) communication (written, oral, and visual) of financial model concepts, test results, and forecasts. Must pass the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Exam Part I and II. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Occasional domestic travel for in-person business planning and technical meetings may be required less than 5% of the time.
Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $98,862 - $150,500.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creates, validates, tests, documents, implements, and oversees usage of complex statistical models with a primary focus on mortgages and rates model development. The models may cover a variety of products or services. However, all models are used as part of the financial decision making process. Focus on specific results including documenting the creation and testing of advanced statistical models and communicating such models to stakeholders within U.S. Bank. Develops quantitative methodologies and models used in a variety of macroeconomic forecast environments. Performs residential mortgage modeling, stress testing, and rates modeling. Provides accurate, timely, and comprehensive forecasts of mortgage components of the income statement and balance sheet. Utilizes knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk factors, industry risks and risk management approaches in the creation of model development and the delivery of validation documentation including presentations, written reports, model and reporting code documentation, business requirements, and monitoring reports. Works with regression techniques, parametric and non-parametric algorithms, and times series algorithms to build models. Works with the following technologies: Python, C#, SAS statistical packages, and SQL.
