Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join JJ Dempers Master Builders – a dynamic and well-established construction company established in 1948. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work primarily in the vibrant Winelands area of the Western Cape and to collaborate with a talented team of professionals dedicated to excellence in the construction industry.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
  • Registration as professional Quantity Surveyor will strengthen the application
  • 10 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil construction industry
  • EES and EGM literacy
  • Financial acumen
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and project management tools
  • Strong analytical skills and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts and legal regulations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and teamwork abilities
  • Excellent computer skill

Responsibilities:

  • Work in conjunction with clients, architects and Quantity Surveyors to establish project requirements
  • Undertake feasibility studies to ensure the feasibility of proposals
  • Estimate material quantities, costs, labour and time
  • Prepare tender and contract documentation
  • Perform risk assessments, value management and cost control during projects
  • Undertake cost analysis for repairs and maintenance work
  • Negotiate contracts and work schedules
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments
  • Ensure projects meet legal and quality standards
  • Continually analyse outcomes and write budget reports
  • Advise on contractual claims and disputes
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and regulations

Requirements:
