Description:

DESCRIPTION:

The role involves working on projects associated with stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks and water distribution networks. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction monitoring.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • \tTechnical Delivery


\tExperience in all facets of quantity surveying including cost planning, quantity take-off, preparation of bills of quantities in CESMM format, estimating, tender and contract document production, report writing, claim evaluation/ negotiation, general post-contract administration, valuation of variations, agreement of new rates, Taking Over Certificates and Defects Liability.

\tAssistance Resident Engineer on commercial matters

\tAssistance in preparation, submission, and agreement of interim payment applications to maximize the company’s cashflow.

\tCo-ordination to ensure contractual requirements are complied with.

\tGeneral commercial management of sub-contractors

\tAccurate and efficient measurement, identification, and measurement of variations

\tProduction and agreement of final accounts and additional cost claims

\tPlacing sub-contact orders and agreement of subcontract final accounts

\tEnsuring that income from interim applications is received on time.

\tLiaison and co-ordination to ensure the financial report is timely and accurate.

\tTaking Over Certificates and Defects Liability Certificates of Contracts related to infrastructure works.

  • \tCollaboration and working as part of a team.


\tWork in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.

\tWork under the direction of the Technical Lead.

\tConduct field inspections under the supervision of the Technical Lead, and Client Engineer representative.

\tLiaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate the completion of tasks and projects.

\tGood communication skill in verbal and writing.

\tInternal and external client liaison

\tAbility to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.

\tExperience in utility diversions and management.

  • \tFollow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.


\tComplete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

\tDesign for safety, i.e. Construction Design Management.

  • \tOther duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying with MRICS certification and 10 years if experience in water infrastructure projects.
